The Strange Woman Was Never the Standard

She was the warning.

She was the warning. Proverbs 7 isn’t just a chapter—it’s a prophecy for men who trade their future for a fantasy.

As I awoke this morning at 2:40 a.m., I felt the sweet presence of my beloved wife.

She was asleep, peaceful, curled against me like she’s done for over two decades.

I slipped out of bed quietly, our oldest dog lifting her head to follow me down the hall.

I poured a coffee and opened my Bible. Proverbs 7.

And that’s when it hit me:

I’m not just reading about a seductive woman.

I’m reading a warning to men like me.

Like you.

There’s a myth that men just want beauty and obedience.

Soft skin. Fast thrills. No questions asked.

It’s a trap.

And Proverbs 7 saw it coming.

“With her much fair speech she caused him to yield…” (Prov. 7:21)

She flatters.

She pursues.

She dresses like prey—but acts like the predator.

And the fool?

He follows her like an ox to the slaughter.

The Strange Woman knows how to be seen.

She’s loud. Bold. Always on the street.

She wants attention, not covenant.

She offers escape, not covering.

And her house?

“Her house is the way to hell…” (Prov. 7:27)

Now contrast that with the Proverbs 31 woman.

She doesn’t chase.

She builds.

She fears the Lord.

She strengthens her arms—not just her selfies.

One is a snare.

The other is a shelter.

If you want your life to matter, this is the test:

Which woman are you drawn to?

Which one do you prepare yourself to lead?

Because a foolish man gets seduced.

But a wise man builds an inheritance.

“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.” (Prov. 31:30)

The Strange Woman was never the standard.

She was the warning.

The godly woman?

She’s the reward.
